Quality Engineer III
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with directing the quality elements of the manufacturing process to include: review of drawings, specifications, regulatory and government standards along with company procedures. Provides input and address concerns regarding manufacturing requirements and other issues related to quality.
- Performs audits to evaluate company’s compliance with FAA regulations and other regulatory agency guidelines.
- Provides input into original product design as part of the product planning process with an eye to what will be required to ultimately manufacture the product.
- Provides technical support as required to all product acceptance functions to clarify and ensure compliance with quality requirements. Fields questions from external suppliers and multiple department personnel related to regulation, manufacturing and company procedural requirements.
- Works with suppliers to develop and review part specification and participates in supplier and internal quality audits.
- Prepares reports and presents technical information to team members, other department personnel and management regarding results of quality assurance activities.
- Participates in material review activities for timely disposition of nonconforming material and products.
- Utilizes expertise to assist in Quality Assurance activities and meeting standards for the final product.
- Contribute to creation of policy and procedures related to various certifications (ISO, Production Certificate, etc.).
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- BS degree in an engineering discipline and 5 years technical aerospace experience, particularly in the field of part fabrication
- Knowledgeable in gear manufacturing to include castings and forgings
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards to corporate policies and procedure
- Extensive knowledge of the SAE AS9100 standard, as well as other industry quality systems
- Ability to read and understand standards, manufacturer’s specifications, blueprints, etc.
- Ability to interpret technical data such as mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Ability to use specialized inspection and hand tooling as required
- Creative, inquisitive, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work in a team setting or individually as needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Hold a valid state driver’s license
- Able to travel and work in foreign countries as required
- Conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values
- Must meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) as a U.S. Person
