James Lematta

Jim is a former S-61 pilot and 107 pilot. He joined Columbia in the very early years as a ground support employee and earned his pilot license over several years while working for Columbia.

Jim learned to fly the 107 using a long-line, a technique which requires superior flying skills.

Jim later held the positions of command pilot, project manager and ultimately became Columbia’s Vice President of Safety.
